Whippendell Wood

Closely located to Cassiobury Park we have the beautiful and ancient Whippendell Wood. This 165 acres of ancient woodland has high interest from local nearby scientists because of it’s location.

The woods is also known for the impressive collection of bluebells. Although the bluebells cover a wide area of the woods there are several large bomb craters that were made from the second world war.

As well as being a tranquil place to walk through, it was used to shoot some sections from Star Wars Episode 1 so if you are into Star Wars then be sure to visit the woods.

After you have finished wandering around be sure to stop off at our restaurant for a bite to eat. Book your table here.
